Melissa Choroszewska Ceramics
Handmade porcelain ceramics make the perfect gift for a loved one. All items are handmade, unique and because of the nature of the work no two pieces are ever the same.
Melissa Choroszewska makes a range of handmade decorative porcelain ceramics inspired by the countryside surrounding Cornwall and Devon and textures found in nature.
Materials such as Royal Porcelain Clay, porcelain casting slip and seasonal flowers and leaves are used. The vessels are bisque fired to 1000 degrees and then coloured glazes and oxides are rubbed into the texture, clear glaze is also applied to areas of the vessels, they are then fired to 1260 degrees. Finally mother of pearl luster is applied over the clear glaze and fired to 800 degrees.
Melissa Choroszewska is a recent graduate of Hereford College of Arts having gained her degree in Contemporary Applied Arts in the summer of 2009.
Work has been recently exhibited at Hereford College of Art Summer Show and New Designers, London. South West Crafts, Tavistock and Prince Town Center for Creativity currently stock Melissa’s Ceramics.
